Definition of Ascending Order

When two or more fractions are placed in increasing order, then this order of fractions is called ascending order.

In ascending order, the smallest fraction is written first and the largest fraction last.

In descending order, the largest fraction is written first and the smallest fraction last.

For Example :- 101 > 88 > 67 > 54 > 48 > 37 > 24 > 10

The smallest Number in this is 10 and the largest number is 101.

The difference between ascending and descending order is clearly shown in the table given below :

Ascending OrderDescending Order
When two or more fractions are placed in increasing order, then this order of fractions is called ascending order. When two or more fractions are arranged in decreasing order, then this order of fractions is called descending order.
In this order, the smallest fraction is written first and the largest fraction is written last. The largest fraction is written first and the smallest fraction last.
An ascending sequence is called an increasing sequence. The descending order is called decreasing order.
Ascending order i.e. increasing order is displayed with (<) sign.Descending order means decreasing order is shown by (>) sign.
