Simplification

If you are going to read all the information about Simplification on this page, then definitely read this page completely.

On the previous page, we had shared the information about Simple Interest and Compound Interest, so read that article as well.

Let us read and understand the information about Simplification, Definition, Formula, and Examples today.

Definition of Simplification

the process of making something less complicated and therefore easier to do or understand, or the thing that results from this process:

  1. The Organization advises on the simplification of trade Procedures.
  2. This is a gross simplification of what actually happened.

Fewer Examples :-

  • There are many simplifications in the new design.
  • He is proposing massive simplification of the tax system.
  • The group have welcomed the proposed simplifications.

Simplification Formulas

Apart from the above sequence, various algebraic formulas are also used in the simplification of expressions.

Important Identities of Simplification :

Common Factor : c(a + b) = ca + cb

Square of Binomial :

  • (a + b)² = a² + 2ab + b²
  • (a – b)² = a² – 2ab + b²

Product of sum and difference of two terms : a² – b² = (a+b) (a-b)

Other identities (sum and difference of cubes) :

  • a³ – b³ = (a – b) (a² + ab + b²)
  • a³ + b³ = (a + b)(a² – ab + b²)

Cube of Binomial :

  • (a + b)³ = a³ + 3a²b + 3ab² + b³
  • (a – b)³ = a³ – 3a²b + 3ab² – b³

Square of the polynomial :

  • (a + b + c)² = a² + b² + c² + 2ab + 2bc + 2ca

Multiplication of two binomials with a common term : (x + a )(x + b ) = x² + (a + b )x + ab

Gauss’s identity : a³ + b³ + c³ – 3abc = (a+b+c) (a² + b² + c² – ab -bc – ca)

Legendre identity :

  • (a+b)² + (a-b)² = 2(a² + b²)
  • (a+b)² – (a-b)² = 4ab)
  • (a+b)4 – (a-b)4 = 8ab(a² + b²)

Lagrange’s identity :

  • (a² + b²) (x² + y²) = (ax+by)² + (ay-bx)²
  • (a² + b² + c²) (x² + y² + z²) = (ax+by+cz)² + (ay-bx)² + (az-cx)² + (bz-cy )²
